Twenty kilometres from Antalya city centre, in the Akdamlar neighbourhood of Konyaaltı at the foot of the Taurus Mountains, a small pond sits in dense woodland. The water is turquoise and ice-cold. Doyran Göleti is not a tourist destination — it is a local one. Families arrive on weekends to pitch tents under the trees; fishermen line the banks in the early morning hours; groups of young people string up hammocks in the shade. For Antalya residents looking to escape the heat and noise of the coast without spending a full day in the car, this is one of the closest and most reliable options available.

A small waterfall sits at the entrance to the pond area — a pleasant additional stop before reaching the main pool.

Fishing

Doyran is best known locally for its fishing. Carp is the principal species and the early morning sight of anglers lined along the bank is one of the pond's defining images. Fishing seasons and local regulations must be observed. Swimming and entering the water are prohibited and dangerous — warning signs are posted clearly around the site.

Camping

Doyran Göleti is a free camping area. Tent and caravan camping are both common; open fires are permitted but ground fires are discouraged in favour of camp stoves and elevated grills. There are no toilet facilities, showers, electricity, drinking water, or food vendors anywhere on site. Everything must be brought in advance; the nearest shops and restaurants are in Doyran village and Akdamlar village.

On the Saklıkent Route

Doyran Göleti sits directly on the road that leads from Konyaaltı via Çakırlar and Duraliler to Saklıkent Ski Resort. Visitors heading up to the ski slopes in winter or returning from them can easily stop here along the way — making it possible to ski in the morning and spend the afternoon under the trees by the pond on the same day.
