Serik’s Turquoise Hidden Garden

Located within the boundaries of Akbaş Village in the Serik district of Antalya, Akbaş Pond was originally constructed for irrigation purposes. However, with its surrounding lush vegetation and the mesmerizing color of its water, it has transformed into a natural wonder. Nestled at the foothills of the Taurus Mountains and surrounded by pine forests, this pond is a frequent destination for those looking to escape the city and find peace, especially on weekends.

The most striking feature of the pond is its crystal-clear water, which shifts from turquoise to emerald green depending on the season and light. The surrounding steep cliffs and forest texture give the area an epic atmosphere, reminiscent of a Scandinavian fjord.

Nature Trekking and Photo Safari

Akbaş Pond is not just a viewing point but also an active nature route. The trails around the pond offer ideal paths for trekking enthusiasts. For photographers, especially in the early morning hours, the reflections of the forest on the surface of the water promise unique shots. Due to its tranquility and untouched nature, the area is also preferred by campers; however, since there are no commercial facilities nearby, it is important to arrive well-prepared.

Neighboring Etler Waterfall

For visitors to the region, Akbaş Pond is usually part of a more extensive discovery route. Etler Waterfall, located very close to the pond, is another stop that crowns this journey. A short trip from the pond to the waterfall gives visitors the chance to explore the lesser-known natural riches of Antalya’s inner regions.
