The Hidden "Flying" Gem of the Taurus Mountains

Hidden deep within the Taurus Mountains in the Serik district of Antalya, Uçansu Waterfall gets its name from its majestic waters that appear to be "flying" as they cascade from the heights. Located within the borders of Akçapınar Village in the Gebiz region, this natural wonder has remained untouched by mass tourism, making it a true off-the-beaten-path discovery.

The waterfall consists of two main branches: "Lower Uçansu" (Uçan 1) and "Upper Uçansu" (Uçan 2). Formed by the convergence of the Havutlu and Bal streams, the water drops from a height of approximately 50-70 meters into a turquoise natural pool.

The King’s Pool and St. Paul Trail

What makes Uçansu Waterfall special is not just its visual beauty, but also its historical and strategic location. The waterfall is situated on the St. Paul Trail, the second longest marked hiking route in Turkey. One of the most beloved stops for hikers is the "King’s Pool" (Kral Havuzu) located at the very top. This natural pool, carved into limestone rocks over centuries, offers a refreshing dip in ice-cold water, especially during the scorching summer months.

For Nature and Adventure Enthusiasts

With its surrounding pine forests, rugged cliffs, and fresh mountain air, Uçansu is an indispensable spot for campers and photographers. The absence of commercial structures provides a unique peace for those who want to listen to the sounds of nature. Due to the adventurous nature of the terrain, Jeep safari tours are frequently organized in the region.

Important Note: Access

Reaching Uçansu Waterfall requires some patience and caution. The final sections of the road are unpaved, steep, and rugged in some parts. It can be challenging for low-clearance passenger cars; SUVs or high-clearance vehicles are highly recommended. For navigation, search for "Uçansu Waterfall - Gebiz" and follow the signs after passing Akçapınar Village.
