The World’s Most Elegant "Soda Straw" Stalactites
Discovered accidentally during quarrying work in 1997, Zeytintaşı Cave in the Serik district is unique for its "soda straw" stalactites, some reaching a meter in length while being only a few millimeters thick. These formations are so delicate that even slight changes in air currents inside the cave can affect them.
A Living Cave
Zeytintaşı is a "living" cave, characterized by high humidity and active dripping water. Every corner of the cave is filled with crystalline formations intricately woven like lace. Due to strict conservation measures, photography and approaching the stalactites are prohibited; this sensitivity is vital to preserving the cave's millions of years of elegance.
