Where a River Meets the Sea

Lower Düden Waterfall is the point where the Düden River reaches the Mediterranean — dropping 40 metres from the limestone cliffs of the Lara coast directly into the sea below. This is one of Antalya's most iconic natural images: the meeting of fresh and salt water, the mist rising from the base of the falls, and — particularly in the afternoon when the sun catches the spray — a rainbow that forms reliably enough to plan around.

The waterfall can be seen for free from the viewing terraces inside Düden Park on the clifftop. But the most impressive perspective is from the water. Boat tours departing from Kaleiçi Marina bring visitors to the base of the falls, where the scale of the cliff, the force of the water, and the spray hitting the boat create an experience that the clifftop view simply cannot match.

Free, Open, and Loved by Locals

Unlike Upper Düden, entry to Lower Düden Park is free. Walking paths, viewing terraces, and picnic areas along the clifftop make it a favourite escape for Antalya residents, particularly on weekends, and it draws increasing numbers of international visitors as well.
