Antalya's Green Corridor by the River

Boğaçayı Park stretches along the banks of the Boğaçayı River in the Konyaaltı district, approximately 8 kilometres from Antalya city centre on the route between the airport and the coast. In a city as dense and busy as Antalya, the park offers something genuinely valuable: a long, quiet stretch of green space where the pace of the city slows down.

The Boğaçayı River itself is around 70 kilometres long, rising in the Taurus Mountains and flowing across the Antalya Plain before emptying into the Mediterranean. It has supplied the city's water since antiquity, and the land along its banks has now been shaped into a linear park that connects several neighbourhoods.

What to Do Here

The walking and cycling paths that run along the riverbank are the park's main draw. Used by morning runners, evening walkers, and cyclists at all hours, the paths offer a continuous green route with the sound of water alongside. Shaded picnic areas with tables and benches are spread throughout the park and are well used by local families, particularly on weekends and summer evenings.

Fishing is a common activity along the riverbank, particularly early in the morning. Children's play areas are positioned at several points through the park. Benches facing the river are popular in the evening when the light softens and the temperature drops.

The park's position on the route between the city and the coast also makes it a natural stop before or after the beach in summer.

A Local Place

Boğaçayı Park appears in few international travel guides and sees relatively few tourists compared to Antalya's main attractions. This is precisely what makes it worth visiting for those who want to see the city as it actually lives — not the resort version, but the everyday one. If you have an afternoon with no agenda and want to sit by a river among people going about their ordinary day, this is where to do it.
