The Hidden Passage Beside the Roman Fortress

Located near the Gedelme district of Kemer, Peynirdeliği Cave takes its name from its cool structure used for storing cheese and its characteristic karstic perforations. The cave forms a complete historical-natural complex along with the 2000-year-old giant plane tree and the Byzantine-Roman Gedelme Castle standing right beside it. The temperature inside is significantly lower than outside, making it a perfect cool sanctuary during the summer months.

A Geological Gem

The internal structure of the cave is filled with stalactites and stalagmites of various sizes formed over centuries. With a downward sloping structure from the entrance, Peynirdeliği offers a fascinating atmosphere with light filtering through the cave mouth, which is particularly attractive for photography enthusiasts. This cave, which does not require professional equipment, is a wonderful discovery stop for hikers.
