A Seaside Art Gallery from the Paleolithic Era
Located right on the coastal road between Kemer and Antalya, Beldibi Cave is essentially a "rock shelter." This shelter, situated 25 meters above sea level, is one of Antalya's most significant prehistoric centers after Karain. The traces left here by Paleolithic and Mesolithic people hold the secrets of the first settlements along the Mediterranean coast.
Red Ochre Paintings on the Walls
The rock paintings of wild goats, humans, and deer figures found on the walls are among the oldest examples of ancient art. These figures, belonging to the Mesolithic period, were created using red ochre. With its location overlooking the sea, the cave reveals the aesthetic perception and lifestyle of prehistoric humans.
