Patara Beach is a long and wide stretch of sandy beach located near the ancient city of Patara in the Antalya region of Turkey. The beach is considered one of the most beautiful in the country, with crystal clear waters and a stunning view of the surrounding mountains. It is also known for being one of the most important nesting sites for loggerhead sea turtles.

The beach is around 18 km long and is surrounded by natural beauty with a dunes, pine forest and a lagoon. The sea is clear and blue, and the beach is wide, making it an ideal spot for swimming, sunbathing, and other beach activities. The beach is also a popular spot for windsurfing and kitesurfing.

As for the ancient city of Patara, it was once a major port city and a center of trade and politics. It was also an important religious center, and was the birthplace of St. Nicholas, also known as Santa Claus. Visitors can explore the well-preserved ruins of the city, including the Roman theater, the Apollo Temple, and the Bouleuterion.

It's worth noting that the beach is also protected area and the visitors are not allowed to use sunbeds or parasols and also during the summer months, certain areas of the beach are closed to protect the sea turtle nesting site.
