Phellos is an ancient city located in the Lycia region of modern-day Turkey. It was founded in the 4th century BC and was known for its production of wool and its strategic location on a mountain overlooking the Xanthos River. The city had a number of significant buildings and structures, including a theater, an agora (marketplace), and a number of tombs carved into the rock. Phellos was an important city in the Lycian League, a federation of ancient city-states in the region. The remains of Phellos can still be visited today, and include well-preserved sarcophagi, rock tombs, and fortification walls.
