Kyaneai (also spelled Cyaneae) was an ancient city located in the region of Lydia, in present-day western Turkey. It was known for its well-fortified acropolis and was one of the most important cities of the Lydian Kingdom. The city was conquered by the Persian Empire in the 6th century BC and later by Alexander the Great in the 4th century BC. The ruins of Kyaneai can still be visited today, and include the remains of a theater and several inscriptions.
