The Summit of Western Taurus and Home of Uçarsu
Rising like a majestic wall behind Gömbe Plateau, Akdağ is the second-highest peak of the Western Taurus with an altitude of 3016 meters. One of Antalya's most characteristic natural wonders, Akdağ is known for its crater lakes and the legendary Uçarsu Waterfall.
Practical Information
- Location: Above Gömbe Plateau, Kaş district. Approximately 70 km from Kaş.
- Transportation: Accessible by car up to Yeşil Göl and Uçarsu via stabilized roads from Gömbe center. Climbing is required for the summit.
- Activities: Trekking to the crater lakes, visiting Uçarsu Waterfall, and summer snowboarding on permanent snow patches.
- Tip: Do not leave without tasting the famous "Fırın Kebab" (oven-roasted lamb) in Gömbe.
