The Cool Meeting Point of History and Nature
Located right behind the Kemer district, Kesme Boğazı is one of the closest passes of the Beydağları Mountains to the sea, serving as both a natural wonder and a historical strategic gateway. Used by armies and caravans in antiquity to cross the mountains, this pass takes its name from the "cut-like" (kesme), steep, and narrow structure of its rocks. During Kemer’s scorching summer heat, it is the most popular escape for locals and tourists alike, with its ice-cold creek and century-old plane trees.
The Roman Bridge and Mountain Biking Routes
One of the details that makes Kesme Boğazı special is the historical Roman Bridge located at the narrowest point of the pass. This bridge documents the commercial importance of the region in ancient times. The canyon also forms the most enjoyable part of the route leading to Gedelme Plateau for mountain biking (MTB) and off-road enthusiasts. Swimming in natural pools by the creek and resting in the shade of the canyon walls are the classic activities of the area.
