The Park Carrying the Cultural Heritage of the Taurus Mountains to the City
Established in many parts of Antalya, from Manavgat to Side, Lara cliffs to Konyaaltı, to keep the "Yörük" (nomadic) culture alive, these thematic parks present the city's deep-rooted nomadic traditions to visitors. Especially the examples in the Manavgat region serve as complete open-air museums with traditional hair-cloth tents, authentic objects, and figures depicting Yörük life.
In the Footsteps of Traditional Life
Agricultural tools, weaving looms, and kitchen utensils used by the Yörük in daily life are exhibited within the park. Visitors do not only encounter a visual feast; they can also drink Yörük coffee brewed on embers and taste freshly made "gözleme" (Turkish flatbread). These areas, where traditional games and tales are reenacted for children, are of great importance in terms of ensuring cultural continuity.
