Alanya, one of the most important tourism centers of the Mediterranean with its blue flag beaches, magnificent sea and hotels, has a history dating back to the 4th century BC. You can see in the Alanya Museum the rich historical heritage of Alanya, which has been dominated by different civilizations due to the fact that it is a favorite settlement in every period thanks to its strategic location and harbor.

The symbol of the Museum, where the works of different periods of Alanya history are exhibited together, is a bronze-cast Heracles statue dating back to the 2nd century AC. This statue, which is also the reason for the opening of the Museum, is so important that even a special section called Heracles Hall is reserved. In the Hall of Anatolian Civilizations, daily use items made of glass, bronze, terracotta materials, jewelry, grave gifts, and sculptures from the Paleolithic Age onwards are exhibited. A rich collection of coins from different eras is in the Coin Section.

There is a separate section for Alanya Castle, which is one of the most important places shedding light on the history of Alanya. Here you can see the finds uncovered during the excavations that lasted for years, providing an abstract of the history of Alanya.
