Lyrbe (also spelled Lyrba) was an ancient city located in the region of Pamphylia, in present-day southern Turkey. It was a small city, but it was known for its strategic location on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and for its well-preserved ruins. Lyrbe was founded by Greek colonists in the 5th century BCE. The city had a temple dedicated to the goddess Athena, a theater, and a necropolis. Lyrbe was conquered by the Roman Empire in the 1st century BCE and was later abandoned. The ruins of Lyrbe are still present today and include the remains of the city's walls, houses, and public buildings. Lyrbe is not a well-known ancient city but it's a good spot for the history lovers who want to visit less touristic ancient city.
